Nokdara Tourist Complex is a feather in the cap of the Kalimpong Tourism Checklist. Mr. Anit Thapa, Chairman-Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), inaugurated it on 21 November 2019.
The Tourist Complex is situated between Lava, Loleygaon & Kafer. It encompasses an area of 2.5 acres and is at a height of 1247 meters (3933 feet) above sea-level. The well-manicured plants, the garden, and the lawn add to the beauty of the 9990 square meters lake. Tourists can enjoy boating in the serene environment in Nok Dara Jheel. Nestled in the forest, the Complex is rich with flora and fauna. Its distance from Kalimpong is 40 km, from Lava is 9 km, from Loleygaon is 5 km. The guest can experience when the Lava, Loleygaon circuit is being covered.
“Tourist rides can happen in 5 pedal boats from this month. Boats will increase with the increase in tourist footfall”, said Mr. Suraj Sharma, Assistant Director Tourism, GTA.
The Project started in May 2015 and completed/inaugurated in November 2019. The department incurred a cost of Rs 14 crores on this project. The local population can offer more room nights for visiting tourists. This will make the homestays and lodges in the vicinity more viable. People have done the hard work. Its time to give more memories to guests. Its time to reap the rewards.
